  • The award honors the first- or second-year doctoral student who has most exhibited exceptional early overall performance in the PhD program through their engagement with faculty on research, performance on coursework and contributions to the intellectual atmosphere of the School of Management ($1000).

  • Featured in the Who’s Who list in an academic publication that compiles a list of outstanding students in the United States. Students are honored based on outstanding campus leadership, scholastic ability (includes a GPA requirement), leadership on and off campus, and community service.

Ÿ ACM SIGMIS-CPR Doctoral Consortium Fellow 2017, Bengaluru, India

  • Competitively selected to participate in the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Management Information Systems (SIGMIS) Computers and People Research (CPR) Conference doctoral consortium chaired by leading scholars in the MIS academia.

  • Competitively selected to participate in the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) doctoral consortium chaired by leading scholars in the MIS academia.

Award for Research Papers

AMCIS 2017 Best Paper Award Runner Up, Boston, Massachusetts

  • Paper on meta-analyses of social presence-task performance relationship was selected as one of the three finalists for the best paper award from the entire AMCIS 2017 program. Over 1000 submissions were received from around the world.. 

Ÿ Best PhD Poster Award 2016, School of Management, University at Buffalo

  • Research poster on “MIS scholar research productivity” was awarded one of the two Best PhD Research Posters in a doctoral student poster competition within the School of Management where only selected posters from the entire school were presented by doctoral students ($1000).

  • Prototype of “Patient Safety Knowledge Management System” got nominated for INFORMS Information Systems Society Design Science Research Award 2012.
